The UAE Cabinet has approved the establishment of a Global Center of Excellence for Cybersecurity in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with global tech giant Google; a move that underscores the UAE’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and cybersecurity enhancement.
This initiative reflects the country’s commitment to keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and its efforts to establish a secure and advanced digital ecosystem that aligns with global developments, while providing a trusted environment for businesses and institutions across all sectors.
The announcement follows the official visit of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and UAE National Security Adviser, to the United States, during which he held high-level meetings with leaders of major international companies to strengthen strategic partnerships between the UAE and these companies in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Discussions during the visit focused on the role of advanced technologies in accelerating sustainable growth, supporting global innovation, and developing the digital infrastructure essential for economic and social development in the UAE.
The launch of this center—through collaboration between the UAE Cybersecurity Council and Google Cloud—is a key milestone in the UAE’s efforts to bolster its capabilities against cyber threats, ensure a secure digital transformation, and support entrepreneurial startups by providing them access to Google Cloud services tailored specifically for emerging businesses.
