Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the UAE, confirmed that bilateral trade between Pakistan and the UAE reached $10.9 billion during the 2023–2024 fiscal year, covering both goods and services, reflecting the strength of the economic partnership between the two countries.
Tirmizi noted that remittances from the Pakistani community in the UAE amounted to $6.7 billion in 2024, with expectations to exceed $7 billion in 2025, underscoring the vital economic role played by the diaspora.
He added that trade in goods amounted to $8.41 billion, driven by a 41.06% increase in Pakistan’s exports, which reached $2.08 billion. In comparison, imports from the UAE decreased by 14.45% to $6.33 billion, resulting in a 28.28% reduction in the trade deficit.
In the services sector, total trade reached $2.56 billion, marking a 20.54% year-on-year growth—an indication of the expanding cooperation beyond traditional goods trade.
The ambassador also highlighted that from July 2024 to January 2025, trade in goods grew by 21.63%, further reinforcing the outlook for continued growth in bilateral economic relations in the coming years.
