EDGE, 4iG Sign Strategic Defense Agreements to Expand into Europe and Africa

    July 19, 20252 Mins Read

EDGE Group, the UAE’s leading advanced technology and defense company, signed three strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Hungary’s 4iG, a prominent player in telecommunications, IT, space, and defense. The agreements, signed during an official UAE delegation visit to Hungary, aim to establish a broad industrial partnership between the two countries.

Through these MoUs, EDGE and 4iG will jointly develop and market advanced defense solutions for European and African markets. Key systems include EDGE’s SkyKnight air defense missile, Shadow 25 and 50 loitering munitions, and autonomous air traffic management platforms VEGA and ORION. The collaboration will also explore opportunities in next-generation unmanned aerial systems and space technologies.

Hamad Al Marar, CEO of EDGE Group, emphasized that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering nations with sovereign, cutting-edge defense capabilities. He noted that today’s rapidly evolving security landscape requires modern, autonomous technologies capable of responding to advanced aerial threats. This cooperation, he said, enhances EDGE’s ability to deliver NATO-compatible, export-ready systems aligned with Hungary’s national objectives.

4iG CEO István Sárhegyi highlighted the strategic importance of the agreements, calling them a milestone in 4iG’s defense ambitions. He praised EDGE’s openness and innovation, stating it enables Hungary to become a key player in the global defense ecosystem.

The agreements also lay the groundwork for potential joint ventures in development, manufacturing, and sales. The agreements position both companies to lead in future-focused defense innovation across Europe and beyond.
