DP World recorded a strong performance during the first quarter of 2025, handling 22.29 million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers across its global terminals, marking a 7.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This remarkable growth is attributed to rising demand for maritime shipping services and the group’s expanding operations across global markets.
Container handling volumes in the Asia-Pacific and Indian subcontinent regions rose by 3.2% to 10.65 million containers, while Europe, the Middle East, and Africa saw a 13.7% increase, reaching 8.34 million containers. The company achieved a 7.3% growth in the Americas and Australia, handling 3.29 million containers.
Container handling volumes grew by 10.8% on a like-for-like basis to over 13.57 million TEUs. Growth across the three regions varied, with the Asia-Pacific and Indian subcontinent rising by 7.5%, the Americas and Australia by 6.7%, and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa rising by 14.7%.
DP World continues to strengthen its position as a key player in enhancing the efficiency of global supply chains through strategic expansion and the delivery of innovative solutions. Its operations span ports, container terminals, maritime services, logistics, and technology, all aimed at improving trade connectivity and supporting sustainable growth.
