Dubai Centre for Family Businesses Showcases Sustainable Growth Strategies

    May 19, 2025Updated:September 16, 20252 Mins Read

The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, operating under Dubai Chambers, organized a new seminar as part of its “Governance Series”, which aims to empower family businesses to achieve sustainable, intergenerational growth through enhanced governance practices and strategic leadership planning.

Held today, the seminar brought together 35 representatives from Dubai-based family businesses and featured the presentation of a successful international case study in family business sustainability. The discussions focused on effective strategies for leadership succession planning and methods to engage second-generation leaders within family businesses, ensuring their early involvement in institutional development and long-term continuity.

A highlight of the seminar was a dynamic panel discussion featuring three board members from Greiner AG, a global leader in packaging solutions. They shared insights into the company’s journey, which has expanded its operations to over 31 countries across five generations of family leadership.

Panelists included Hannes Moser, CFO and board member of Greiner AG; Christoph Greiner, a board member since 2015 and family council member since 2010; and Dominik Greiner, a board member since 2020 and family council member since 2015. They provided in-depth perspectives on the development of effective governance models for family businesses, highlighting how early planning and long-term strategies can ensure business continuity and success across generations, while drawing on their rich global family enterprise experience.

The Governance Series is one of the Dubai Centre for Family Businesses’ key initiatives aimed at enabling family-owned enterprises to overcome challenges, grow their operations, and strengthen connections with family businesses across the region and the world. It also serves as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, showcasing multi-generational success stories, and drawing on best practices in corporate governance and smooth leadership transition.
