This strong performance was driven by improved operational efficiency and robust recoveries, resulting in lower net impairment charges.
The bank’s total assets grew by 31% year-on-year to AED 23.4 billion, supported by strong growth in loans, advances, and Islamic financing (up 31%), investment growth (up 29%), and a notable 40% increase in customer deposits.
UAB maintained a strong capital position, with a Capital Adequacy Ratio of 17.1% and a Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio of 12.6%, both of which were significantly above regulatory requirements. The bank also improved its non-performing loan (NPL) ratio, which declined to 3.4% from 4.8% last year, supported by a robust coverage ratio of 118%.
The bank continues to grow its core business and revenue across corporate banking, retail banking, treasury, and capital markets. It is also shifting toward a more agile operating model that offers enhanced digital solutions and capabilities.
