Dragon Oil, fully owned by the Government of Dubai, concluded its successful participation in the GOTECH 2025 Conference and Exhibition held recently in Dubai by announcing the signing of a series of strategic agreements and memoranda of understanding, reaffirming its commitment to international expansion and strengthening its leadership position in the energy sector.
The agreements included a collaboration with Business Oil Africa to develop oil and gas assets in Gabon, a new concession agreement with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation for exploration and production in the East Hamad area, and a memorandum of understanding with Qorum to accelerate digital transformation and enhance operational efficiency.
The company also entered into partnerships with Baker Hughes Corva and Exebenus to implement AI technologies in drilling operations, in addition to collaborating with BGP to utilize advanced seismic survey techniques and AI applications. Dragon Oil also signed a settlement agreement with the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO)
Engineer Ali Rashid Al Jarwan, Managing Director, Exploration and Production, and CEO of Dragon Oil, stated that the five agreements were signed in the presence of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board, and Engineer Tarek El Molla, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum. The agreements involve future expansion plans in Egypt through new exploration contracts as well as technological partnerships with leading global AI companies to support deep drilling operations.
He added that the agreement with Gabon focuses on studying investment opportunities, exchanging information, and conducting initial assessments. Some contracts are binding while others remain under further review, as part of enhancing cooperation and creating new opportunities for sustainable growth.
Al Jarwan emphasized that these agreements represent a practical translation of Dragon Oil’s vision of smart investment through digital innovation and global partnerships. He affirmed the company’s ongoing efforts to build strong alliances that support sustainable growth and keep pace with future transformations in the energy industry.
