Dubai Financial Market Reports 41.8% Profit Growth in Q1 2025

    May 9, 2025Updated:September 16, 20252 Mins Read

According to a press release issued, Dubai Financial Market (DFM) recorded a significant 41.8% increase in its net profit during the first quarter of 2025, reaching AED 127.06 million compared to AED 89.59 million in the same period of 2024.

This growth was driven by record trading activity, with pre-tax profit rising to AED 134.9 million, up from AED 95.6 million in Q1 2024.

DFM witnessed the highest average daily trading value in over a decade at AED 663 million, marking a 67% year-on-year increase. Total trading value surged by 61% to AED 41 billion, compared to AED 25.5 billion in Q1 2024.

Consolidated revenues for the quarter reached AED 186.5 million, up from AED 148.1 million a year earlier. This included AED 86 million from operating income and AED 100.5 million from investment returns and other income.

His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Chairman of DFM, praised the market’s strong performance and continued investor confidence, highlighting that the exchange maintained robust trading activity despite global market volatility.

As of the end of March 2025, the market capitalization of listed companies stood at AED 897 billion, a slight 1% decrease compared to the end of 2024. The average number of daily trades rose by 33% year-on-year to 13,400, reflecting improved liquidity and active investor participation.

Investor interest remained strong, with DFM attracting 19,366 new investors in Q1; 86% of whom were non-UAE nationals. Foreign investors accounted for 53% of total trading value, maintaining a stable ownership share of 21% of the total market capitalization.

Institutional investor confidence also continued to grow, with institutions contributing 72% of total trading value, up from 65% in the same period last year; further strengthening DFM’s appeal to a broad and diverse global investor base.
