Dubai International Airport Ranks First in Passengers’ Number for 2024

    April 16, 2025Updated:August 11, 20251 Min Read

Dubai International Airport has once again cemented its global standing by topping the list of the world’s busiest airports for international passengers in 2024, welcoming 92.33 million travelers—a 6.1% increase from 2023 and 7% growth compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, according to the Airports Council International (ACI).

The report placed Dubai International as the second busiest airport globally in total passenger traffic (domestic and international), just behind Atlanta’s Hartsfield–Jackson Airport in the United States, reaffirming Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub.

Over the past decade, Dubai Airport has handled more than 700 million passengers across 3.3 million flights, thanks to operational innovation, service efficiency, and a strong commitment to quality.

The airport’s exceptional performance in 2024 was fueled by consistent growth throughout the year, with December standing out as the busiest month, seeing 8.2 million passengers—a testament to Dubai’s continued appeal as a global destination for tourism, business, and investment.

In the international passenger rankings, London Heathrow came second with 79.2 million passengers, followed by Incheon Airport in South Korea with 70.67 million, Singapore Changi with 67 million, and Amsterdam Schiphol with 66.8 million, reinforcing Dubai International Airport’s status as the world’s leading gateway for international travelers.
