EDGE Group and Turkey-based BAVO, a leader in defense, public safety, communications, and digital technologies, have launched a new joint venture named KEY4, focused on high-tech defense and security solutions. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, KEY4 will drive the co-development of advanced systems aligned with the UAE’s priorities and global partner needs.
The announcement took place during the 2025 International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) in Istanbul, running from July 22 to 27.
The agreement was signed by Omar Al Zaabi, President of Trading & Mission Support at EDGE, and Ali Özer, Chief Strategy Officer at BAVO.
Omar Al Zaabi stated that KEY4 represents a strategic extension of EDGE’s mission to deliver sovereign, sensitive defense and security solutions in collaboration with trusted international partners. The venture reinforces industrial capability, accelerates tech development, and transforms expertise into operational advantage.
By leveraging deep customer insight across cyber defense, electronic warfare, AI, and secure systems, KEY4 will play a critical role in enhancing the UAE’s defense posture and solidifying its status as a reliable security partner both regionally and globally.
Serkan Altınışık, CEO of BAVO, emphasized that the partnership merges Turkish engineering excellence with EDGE’s innovation to create next-generation sovereign solutions that address increasingly complex global challenges.
He added that the venture reflects BAVO’s commitment to strategic collaboration that enhances interoperability, resilience, and the future of defense systems.
KEY4 will integrate sovereign and technical expertise from both sides across key areas such as encryption, cybersecurity, secure communications, signal interception, electronic warfare, AI, and machine learning.
Additional focus areas include big data analytics, C4 systems, data centers, border security, smart surveillance, aerospace, electro-optics, and CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear) solutions, as well as systems design and prototyping.
