Emirates Airlines announced that it has transported approximately 1.1 million passengers in Premium Economy class since its launch in 2022, with the service set to expand to 56 destinations and over 500 weekly departures from Dubai by September 2025.
The airline is currently undertaking the largest retrofit program in the aviation sector, worth $5 billion, to upgrade over 200 aircraft from its A380 and B777 fleets. By the end of 2025, this will enable Emirates to offer 2 million Premium Economy seats across its global network.
Emirates is deploying its newly refurbished aircraft on long- and medium-haul routes, starting with destinations in Australia and the Americas, and gradually expanding to Europe, Asia, and Africa, following a flexible deployment strategy tailored to high demand for premium travel experiences.
As of March, 49 aircraft have been refurbished, with one newly updated aircraft joining the fleet every three weeks. The airline is also expecting delivery of up to 15 new A350 aircraft by the end of summer, further boosting the Premium Economy network.
This expansion comes amid growing demand for affordable luxury travel, at a time when the aviation sector is facing challenges in new aircraft deliveries from manufacturers.
The milestone reflects Emirates’ commitment to offering a wider range of travel options and an exceptional onboard experience to its passengers across all continents.
