Under the theme “Innovate in Sharjah,” the Sharjah Foreign Direct Investment Office (Invest in Sharjah) and the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park participated in InnoEx 2025, a key event during Hong Kong’s Innovation and Technology Business Week. The goal was to showcase promising opportunities in technology, innovation, scientific research, and advanced industries, while exploring mutual investment prospects with Asian and global entrepreneurs.
The Sharjah delegation included H.E. Mohammed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah; Marwan Saleh Al Ajaleh, Director of Investment Promotion and Support; and Jumaa Abdullah Al Haj, Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing at the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park. Their visit aimed to strengthen the growing trade and investment ties between Sharjah, the UAE, and Hong Kong.
This year’s participation also promoted the new digital platform “Innovate in Sharjah,” which offers users access to Sharjah’s infrastructure, labs, and research facilities, further positioning the emirate as a regional hub for innovation and advanced industries, and supporting the broader investment ecosystem.
InnoEx 2025 is a global strategic platform that attracts thousands of business leaders, tech companies, FDI promotion agencies, and organizations from Asia and beyond. This year’s edition focuses on cutting-edge solutions in generative AI, smart infrastructure, and tailored technologies for SMEs.
H.E. Mohammed Juma Al Musharrkh emphasized the accelerating economic ties between Sharjah and Hong Kong, citing a trade exchange of AED 54.7 billion between the UAE and Hong Kong by the end of November 2024. He noted the complementary roles both regions play—Sharjah as a gateway to regional markets, and Hong Kong as a key Asian trade and investment hub—thanks to both offering strong investment environments, modern infrastructure, free zones, and supportive business policies.
Jumaa Al Haj highlighted that the Sharjah Research Park’s participation reflects its commitment to expanding international cooperation in advanced technology and innovation. With cutting-edge labs, research centers, and global partnerships, the park offers an ideal platform for testing and developing tech solutions. He also stressed Hong Kong’s status as a leading innovation partner, with strong prospects for joint efforts to position Sharjah as a regional center for smart industries and knowledge-based economies.
The Sharjah delegation’s agenda included a visit to Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, one of Asia’s top innovation hubs, covering 330,000 square meters and hosting over 2,200 tech companies from 25 countries and regions. The visit reaffirmed Sharjah’s commitment to promoting innovation, technology, and strategic partnerships through experience exchange in investment attraction, startup incubation, acceleration programs, and joint exhibitions.
The delegation also visited Cyberport, a major government-backed digital innovation incubator in Hong Kong. As a vital supporter of startups and entrepreneurs in various tech fields, the visit explored ways to collaborate and boost investment flows into knowledge economies and digital transformation, empowering the next generation of innovators.
