His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, met with H.E. Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg, to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation across several key sectors, particularly finance, trade, innovation, and emerging technologies, in line with the two nations’ shared goals for inclusive and sustainable development.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Investment Corporation of Dubai, emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration, especially in developing flexible financial systems capable of meeting the demands of a sustainable financial future, aligned with both countries’ strategic economic visions.
The discussions also covered opportunities for knowledge exchange in financial and banking services, capitalizing on Dubai and Luxembourg’s status as leading global financial hubs, and fostering cooperation in financial technology (FinTech) and blockchain to enhance competitiveness and drive innovation.
The meeting further highlighted the UAE’s strong economic enablers, including its advanced financial infrastructure, progressive regulatory environment, and supportive ecosystem for the global financial and investment community; positioning the country as an ideal gateway for Luxembourg-based companies seeking regional and global expansion.
The two sides also explored potential partnerships in sustainable finance and financial innovation, as well as collaborations between investment funds and financial centers in both countries to promote deeper economic integration and mutual growth.
