U.S. Department of Energy: UAE is a Trusted Partner in the Energy Sector

    May 19, 2025Updated:July 18, 20252 Mins Read

Ben Dietrich, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Energy, affirmed the strength of the energy partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

He said that the two countries share a deep-rooted and long-standing relationship in the energy sector, expressing the U.S.’s eagerness to expand cooperation with the UAE in areas such as global supply security and infrastructure resilience.

He added, “We welcome the continued growth of Emirati investments in U.S. energy projects and look forward to new partnerships that support economic growth in both countries.”

Dietrich noted that the UAE and the U.S. enjoy a trusted partnership in the field of civil nuclear cooperation, welcoming ongoing collaboration to ensure the safe and effective deployment of nuclear energy, including future innovations.

He emphasized that both nations recognize and value the growing role of energy infrastructure development for data centers and artificial intelligence, and support continued cooperation in this area.

He further explained that the bilateral energy relationship between the U.S. and the UAE goes beyond trade and investment to include knowledge exchange, institutional strengthening, and the promotion of affordable, reliable, and secure energy in both countries.

The UAE welcomed H.E. Chris Wright, U.S. Secretary of Energy, in April, marking his first official foreign visit since taking office. The UAE was his first stop on a regional tour of the Middle East.

During his two-day visit, Secretary Wright held a series of high-level meetings with government officials and leaders from the UAE’s industrial sector.
