Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, “Dubai AI Week,” held from April 21 to 25, featured a series of pioneering events that highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of key sectors, most notably education and healthcare. The week included two flagship events: the “AI Innovations Conference,” organized by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and “HIMSS 2025,” a specialized global event focused on the future of healthcare, supported by the Dubai Health Authority and Emirates Health Services.
The AI Innovations Conference focused on advancing research and development in AI technologies, enhancing scientific and educational capabilities, and showcasing cutting-edge applications that empower educational institutions to adapt and thrive in the digital era. The conference brought together leading experts, thought leaders, and decision-makers, and featured panel discussions with major companies, the presentation of over 200 research papers, strategic agreement signings, and the launch of the “Innovation Lab.” Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri emphasized that the conference marked a key milestone in the UAE’s commitment to harnessing modern technologies to support education and build a sustainable knowledge economy.
Meanwhile, “HIMSS 2025” served as a dynamic platform that united healthcare leaders to explore the future of generative AI, precision medicine, genomics, and innovative tools driving digital transformation and improving healthcare outcomes. Ronan O’Connor, Managing Director of HIMSS, expressed his delight at the participation of top experts and specialists from both public and private sectors, who shared valuable insights and experiences on the evolving role of AI in healthcare.
Dubai AI Week also featured a wide array of events organized by the Dubai Center for AI Applications, including the “AI Retreat,” “Dubai AI Forum,” the “International AI Challenge,” “Dubai AI Festival,” the “Machines Can See Summit,” and the “AI Week Hackathon.” Additionally, a full program of school-based activities was conducted in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, aimed at instilling AI awareness among the younger generation.
