Tourism and investment leaders gathered at the Arabian Travel Market to discuss the vital role of strategic investment in unlocking the full potential of the tourism sector across the Middle East.
During a high-level panel session on the event’s Global Stage, speakers explored how advanced government policies, innovative development, and close collaboration between the public and private sectors are accelerating sustainable tourism growth throughout the region. The participants agreed that diversifying tourism offerings is essential for ensuring long-term sustainability.
The panel emphasized that strategic diversification is no longer optional but a necessary component for continued growth, helping attract a wider range of visitors and meet the evolving expectations of global travelers.
In this context, Irina Mati, CEO of Therme Dubai — set to become the world’s largest wellness resort — noted that government strategies in the region are already highly advanced, prioritizing inclusivity and long-term impact, which enhances the prospects for sustainable tourism development.
Meanwhile, Guy Hutchinson, President of Hilton for the Middle East and Africa, stated that the Middle East has become a model for developing sustainable tourism infrastructure. He highlighted how the UAE has moved from building a thriving tourism industry to exporting its successful strategies globally, adding that the region is experiencing strong demand across multiple sectors, fueled by robust policy frameworks and well-coordinated public-private partnerships.
