The United Arab Emirates topped the list of crude oil exporters to Japan in April 2025, supplying Tokyo with 34 million barrels, according to official Japanese data. This volume accounted for 45.5% of Japan’s total oil imports for the month, as reported by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. In total, Japan imported 74.77 million barrels of crude oil in April. Arab countries dominated Japan’s oil imports, providing 94.1% (equivalent to 70.40 million barrels) of the total supply.
